Prepare subclips, track names, and audio handoffs in Premiere

Use MarkerBuddy Full to create subclips from marker ranges, apply track-name presets, and export sequence audio as AAF. Review each workflow before applying it.

Premiere 25.6 is the minimum. Premiere 26.3 or later is recommended.

Create Subclips From Markers

    Open Automation Center and choose Create Subclips From Markers. Choose selected or visible markers, then review the preview. Only range clip markers linked to a supported source clip are eligible.

    Check the source clip, proposed name, start, end, and duration. Names come from the marker name or comment. Choose whether to include video and audio, and choose hard or soft boundaries.

  3. 03

    Read the reasons for skipped rows, then apply the reviewed changes. Point markers, nested or multicam sources, missing media, invalid ranges, and duplicate names or ranges are excluded. Use Premiere Undo to undo the whole batch.

Track Organization

    Open Track Organization in Automation Center. Choose Reality / Documentary, Podcast, or Social, then review the preview.

    Compare the current and proposed names for the first applicable video and audio tracks. Tracks whose names already match are left out. Preset names such as MAIN, BROLL, and MUSIC stay the same in every panel language.

    Apply the reviewed changes. MarkerBuddy checks the tracks again before renaming them. Use Premiere Undo to restore their previous names.

Audio Handoff → AAF

  1. 01

    Open Audio Handoff → AAF in Automation Center. Check that the named sequence is the one you want to send.

    Review the fixed settings: WAV audio at 48 kHz and 24-bit, trimmed sources with 120-frame handles, embedded audio, multichannel audio split to mono, and rendered audio effects. No video mixdown is included.

  3. 03

    Choose a destination and export. Wait for the completion result, then check the AAF in the receiving audio application. Cancelling the file picker stops the export. File exports cannot be undone.

Choose Audio Handoff → AAF when you need sequence audio. Choose Pro Tools Marker AAF from Export As when you need only marker timecodes and notes. Audition Safe Transfer remains a separate workflow for clip markers and reference WAVs.
