Select the exact audio clips to analyze
Select one or more audio clip items in the active timeline. Video items and unselected audio are ignored. MarkerBuddy follows visible nested timing to the underlying leaf audio source while preserving trims, speed mapping, reverse playback, and parent offsets.
Analysis reads only the visible selected source ranges. A shared source can appear in more than one timeline occurrence, so the final review explains that source markers may be visible elsewhere.
Analyze clap-like transients locally and offline
Choose Conservative, Balanced, or More candidates. MarkerBuddy asks Premiere to render each selected source range through a bundled mono WAV preset, decodes it locally, analyzes waveform energy and spectral change, and deletes the temporary sequence and audio file afterward.
No audio is uploaded, no cloud model is called, and no Adobe Media Encoder queue is created. The candidate score ranks clap-like transients from 0 to 100; it is not a probability.
Review false-match risks before adding markers
Clean production audio can work extremely well, but music, applause, action scenes, clipped peaks, and heavily compressed camera audio can produce unavoidable false matches. MarkerBuddy therefore calls every result a likely clap/slate candidate and never guarantees slate detection.
Only the strongest high-scoring candidate per source is preselected. Compare each checked row with picture and production sound, and choose one of MarkerBuddy's eight marker colors before applying.
Approved rows become point clip markers named Clap Marker. Each comment is exactly Clap @ followed by the underlying leaf clip's source timecode, including its media-start timecode. The candidate review remains the place for false-match warnings and camera-sync judgment.

Likely candidates are not guaranteed slate detections
Transient audio alone cannot prove that a peak is a slate. Music, applause, action, clipping, and heavy compression can resemble a clap. MarkerBuddy ranks likely candidates, preselects only a strong source winner, and requires human review before marker application or camera sync.
