Start with the exact marker row you need to revisit
A Location Marker is a shortcut to an existing sequence or clip marker. It does not create a duplicate, change the marker type, or move the marker. Assignment comes from the row you drag, not from the current selection.
Row dragging stays available when two or more markers are selected because the dragged row identifies the intended marker. Occupied slots also remain available as jump controls.
Assign and replace by drag and drop only
The ten numbered Location Memory slots sit immediately after the marker and selection counts in the footer. Drag a marker row directly onto an empty slot to assign it. Drag a marker row onto an occupied slot to replace its assignment. Clicking an empty slot does not assign anything.
Occupied slots use the marker color. The same marker can be saved to more than one slot, and each Premiere sequence keeps its own ten-slot bank across panel and Premiere relaunches.
Recognize and jump to saved locations
Click an occupied slot to move Premiere's playhead to the marker and make it the focused selection. The TIMECODE column adds a compact LM# badge such as LM3 or LM1,2. The mini timeline adds a cyan ring and diamond while preserving the marker's own color and, for spanned markers, its full range bar.
The optional Stream Deck plugin includes dedicated Location Memory 1-10 actions. Assign the slot in MarkerBuddy once, then use the matching physical key to jump to it.
Workflow
A practical four-step process
-
01
Find the marker row
Locate the exact sequence or clip marker that you want to make instantly reachable.
-
02
Drag it to a numbered slot
Drag the row onto an empty footer slot. The occupied slot takes on the marker color.
-
03
Jump whenever needed
Click the slot or trigger the matching Location Memory Stream Deck action.
-
04
Manage the shortcut
Drag another marker row onto the slot to replace it. Right-click for Jump or Clear; Shift+F10 opens the same menu for keyboard users.
Safe recovery
MarkerBuddy refuses to guess
MarkerBuddy follows exact marker identity first and can recover a uniquely moved or converted marker from stored owner, source, track, time, name, comment, duration, and type details. If the marker was deleted or several candidates are equally plausible, the slot shows a warning instead of jumping to the wrong place. Right-click it to clear the assignment, or drag the intended marker row onto it to replace the assignment.
