One panel for the complete marker set
MarkerBuddy loads sequence markers and clip markers on timeline tracks into one editable table. Change names, comments, colors, and timecodes; search by text; filter by color, track, and status; configure the six table columns and Saved Presets in Column Settings; and navigate the active sequence from the marker list.
Quick Marker templates make repeated labels and colors one-click actions. Batch editing, marker conversion, client-note import, cross-format export, completion status, duplicate detection, a mini timeline, and dedicated undo history are part of the same workflow.
Offline after the Marketplace install
The production JavaScript, CSS, icons, PDF generator, and import/export code are bundled in the installed package. Marker reads and writes use Premiere’s local UXP APIs, while settings and presets stay in local storage and the plugin data folder.
MarkerBuddy makes no background web requests and requires no MarkerBuddy account, telemetry service, cloud processing, or runtime license server. Adobe and Creative Cloud can have their own activation requirements outside MarkerBuddy.
Use physical keys for repeated marker actions
The separate Stream Deck plugin includes 25 actions: Quick Marker 1 through 8, Add Clip Marker, Add Sequence Marker, Previous Marker, Next Marker, Undo, Mark as Complete, Mark as Skipped, and Location Memory 1 through 10. The Location Memory actions jump to the corresponding sequence-specific slots after those slots are assigned by dragging marker rows in MarkerBuddy. Key-level feedback reports success or an error.
The integration uses local macOS and Windows helpers. macOS requires Accessibility permission for the Stream Deck application. Windows environments must allow desktop UI Automation. Premiere must be running with an active sequence.
Workflow
A practical four-step process
-
01
Install MarkerBuddy
Use the Adobe Creative Cloud Marketplace, restart Premiere, and open the UXP panel on Premiere 25.6 or later.
-
02
Build the marker workspace
Use Column Settings to order or hide the seven columns, configure filters, search, and Quick Markers, then save the complete workspace as a Saved Preset. LOC follows Timecode and appears when a Location Marker is assigned.
-
03
Optionally install Stream Deck support
Download the companion installer and assign the desired MarkerBuddy actions to physical keys.
-
04
Work locally
Manage markers, client notes, status, reports, and handoffs without sending MarkerBuddy data to a cloud service.
Good fit
Use this workflow for
- Editors and assistant editors managing dense marker sets
- Facilities with offline or air-gapped runtime requirements
- Repeat Quick Marker, Location Memory, navigation, and status actions on Stream Deck
- Post teams that need imports, exports, presets, and undo
Important limit
What this workflow does not assume
MarkerBuddy requires Premiere 25.6 or later. Adobe controls Creative Cloud installation and entitlement. The Stream Deck integration does not create native assignable Premiere keyboard shortcuts; it invokes supported MarkerBuddy menu commands through local helpers.
