Notes completion workflow

Track client feedback inside Adobe Premiere Pro

Markers identify where a note belongs, but a busy post team also needs to know whether it is unresolved, completed, or intentionally skipped. MarkerBuddy adds status to the marker workflow without replacing the editor’s comment text.

For the fundamentals behind this workflow, start with Adobe Premiere Pro markers: the complete guide.

Keep the note and the decision separate

Overwriting a comment with DONE removes the original instruction. Adding prefixes creates inconsistent wording and makes searching harder. MarkerBuddy keeps the editable comment focused on the note while displaying a compact Completed or Skipped badge and a separate status column.

Hover details retain the status context, and restoration can return one marker or a selected group to Pending when tasks reopen. Starting a status change on any selected row applies it to the complete selection in one operation; starting from an unselected row changes only that marker.

Filter the active round to what remains

Search and filters can combine text, color, track, and status for markers loaded from the active sequence. An editor can isolate Pending VFX notes, Completed audio notes, or Skipped requests from one imported review round.

Saved Presets in Column Settings make recurring layouts, filters, searches, and Quick Marker workspaces reusable. Exporting the currently visible set creates a focused CSV or PDF rather than a report filled with irrelevant markers.

Preserve status through edits and exports

MarkerBuddy preserves status metadata during its supported marker edits, batch comment changes, copying, imports, exports, and reconform operations where the destination supports it. Exported status remains readable outside MarkerBuddy.

The workflow is local to the project and panel. MarkerBuddy is not a multiuser task server, so two editors do not receive live cloud updates from each other.

Workflow

A practical four-step process

  1. 01

    Group the feedback round

Use a shared marker name or color when importing or creating a set of client notes.

  2. 02

    Work from Pending

Filter to unresolved markers and navigate the active sequence from one required change to the next.

  3. 03

    Record the outcome

Mark one note or a selected group Completed when addressed, Skipped when intentionally not applied, or restore the selection to Pending when work reopens.

  4. 04

    Report the current state

Export the filtered markers to CSV or PDF with the Status and Comments fields included.

Good fit

Use this workflow for

  • Client and producer feedback rounds
  • QC, VFX, graphics, audio, and delivery checklists

Share the updated Premiere project

MarkerBuddy does not send live task notifications between workstations. Save and share the updated Premiere project so another editor with MarkerBuddy can see the marker notes and status.

FAQ

Questions post teams ask

Can I change the status of multiple markers at once?

Yes. Select multiple marker rows, then begin a Completed, Pending, or Skipped status change from any selected row. MarkerBuddy applies the status to the complete selection as one operation and one undo entry.

Can I mark Premiere markers as complete?

Yes. MarkerBuddy adds Completed, Pending, and Skipped states while keeping the visible comment text intact.

Can I show only unfinished notes?

Yes. Filter the active sequence by Pending status and combine it with text, color, or track filters.

Will status appear in an exported report?

Yes. Include the Status and Comments fields in CSV or PDF exports. Supported handoff formats retain human-readable status context.

Can I reopen a completed note?

Yes. Restore the marker to Pending and continue tracking it.
