Marker reports

Export Adobe Premiere markers to CSV or PDF

Producers and clients often need the notes without the Premiere project. MarkerBuddy exports the markers currently selected or visible into a spreadsheet-ready CSV or a formatted PDF report.

One-time purchase • Premiere 25.6+ • macOS and Windows

Choose which markers belong in the report

A useful report rarely needs every marker in the project. MarkerBuddy exports the selection when markers are selected; otherwise it exports the markers currently visible after search and filters. That makes it possible to deliver only incomplete notes, one color, one track, or one review round.

Export As groups CSV and PDF under Reports & data, and each card explains its purpose before export. Choose Configure to reveal the field controls inside the selected card, then include the columns the recipient needs: index, timecode, color, track, name, comments, and status.

CSV for production, PDF for presentation

CSV is appropriate for sorting, assigning, and updating work in Sheets, Excel, or a production database. A PDF is easier to review as a fixed document and includes MarkerBuddy branding, sequence and generation details, a repeating header, and page numbering.

When supported by the real Premiere host, MarkerBuddy can capture a frame at each marker and include thumbnails in the export. The capture shows progress and can be cancelled.

Keep reports consistent with export presets

Choose Save Current Preset to keep a format and its options for recurring client, network, or internal templates. Saved presets appear in a separate card, so the next report can reuse the same fields without rebuilding the setup.

MarkerBuddy exports the marker data it reads from the active sequence. It does not upload the report or email it; the file stays on the editor’s computer until they choose how to share it.

Workflow

A practical four-step process

  1. 01

    Filter the marker set

Search, filter, or select markers so the visible set matches the intended recipient.

  2. 02

    Choose CSV or PDF

Use CSV for spreadsheet work or PDF for a fixed, client-ready notes document.

  3. 03

    Select the fields

Include only the timecode, color, track, name, comments, status, and index columns the report needs.

  4. 04

    Export and verify

Open the result, confirm the sequence and marker count, then share it through the team’s approved channel.

Good fit

Use this workflow for

  • Producer spreadsheets built from the active edit
  • Client-ready notes reports with consistent formatting
  • Status-only or department-specific deliveries
  • PDF reports with optional frame thumbnails

Important limit

What this workflow does not assume

Frame thumbnails require the real Premiere host and add capture time. MarkerBuddy creates the local report but does not send it, host it, or update a recipient’s spreadsheet automatically.
