Prepare a clean chapter marker set
Each chapter needs a useful title and a start time. Use marker names for concise chapter labels and keep unrelated review notes out of the export with color, text, or selection filters.
YouTube chapter behavior depends on YouTube’s current rules. A first chapter at 00:00 is a durable practice, but always verify the final description after publishing because platform requirements can change.
Export the timeline timing you already approved
MarkerBuddy reads the active sequence markers and produces a plain-text chapter list. This avoids copying values from Premiere’s marker panel into a spreadsheet formula or manually converting full timecodes to shorter display timestamps.
If only the intended chapter markers are selected, MarkerBuddy exports the selection. With no selection, it uses the currently visible filtered markers.
Use the same markers for more than YouTube
A chapter set can also be exported to CSV for production records or saved in other handoff formats when the next system needs marker data rather than a description block.
MarkerBuddy does not generate chapter topics from audio or a transcript. It formats the markers and names the editor has deliberately created.

Choose YouTube Chapters TXT, review the output, and paste it into the video description.

Important limit
What this workflow does not assume
MarkerBuddy formats existing markers; it does not transcribe the sequence, detect topics with AI, create chapter titles, upload to YouTube, or guarantee acceptance under future YouTube rules.
